Working as the technician supervisor at MEAC has proven thus far to be a very challenging, yet rewarding, position and has given me a chance to further my skill base in the veterinary industry. Despite only being 27, I have worked in the animal field in one way or another for over ten years at this stage of my career. I started out by assisting at a small, non-profit animal shelter that a friend was managing in Connecticut, where I had lived the majority of my childhood. From there, I was employed at a 7 doctor general practice, where I was trained as a veterinary technician and began taking online veterinary technician courses. During this time I also did an internship and became a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in the state of Connecticut.

After a couple years in school and working at a general practice, I went on to receive my national certification as a veterinary technician and changed over to working in the emergency aspect of animal care. Currently I have been in emergency medicine for the past six years and especially enjoy it because I feel that it gives me a chance to help those animals that truly need it the most. I like variety and challenge, which is also something that each new day brings in my position at MEAC and, as many in the field would agree, once you have worked in emergency medicine the thought of returning to a day of scheduled appointments and routine procedures is something that I can no longer imagine feeling satisfied with.
